What is an ATA?

Tips & Tricks

An ATA, or Analogue Telephone Adapter is a very useful device that can help users (especially those at home) moving from an older fixed line type telephone service, to a VoIP one. The device acts as a converter to allow users to continue to use their original telephone equipment.

Simply connect the ATA to your router using an Ethernet cable, then plug your phone into the ATA and you can then program it to work with your new service provider.

We fully support ATAs with our services, and we supply a selection of hardware in our store if you would like to purchase one for use with us or elsewhere:

We also provide guidance for setting up a series of ATAs within our documentation, such as our guide below for the Cisco ATA series:

And finally, we can always provide support and guidance directly if required, simply get in touch with us via email, live chat or telephone on 0330 088 0900 and we'll be happy to help.
