Setting up a remote phonebook on a Snom phone
In order to be able to use the remote phonebook feature in your Snom phone, you'll need to set up a "Hardware Provisioning" profile, then connect to that from the phone.
This guide assumes that you haven't used our provisioning service, whereby the phonebook is automatically configured for you, and are setting up the phone manually.
Setting up Hardware Provisioning
To set up a profile, head to Extensions, then Prone provisioning in Dial 9 Connect, then click Add a New Device:
Choose Snom 300/370 in the Device Type, enter a Description for the associated extension, then the MAC Address of the device which can be found in the Status screen on the phone, when you press the OK button.
Choose the Extension in the next dropdown, then leave all other settings as they are, clicking Save Device to finish.
Retrieving the Remote Phonebook URL
Now you've saved the device profile, you can click on the MAC Address in the list, then you'll see the Remote Phonebook URL near the bottom of the dialog, which you can copy to your clipboard.
Adding the Phonebook URL to your phone
Next, you'll need to login to the phone's web interface. Press the settings key on the front of the phone, then press option 6 for Information, followed by option 2 for System Info, where you'll see an IP address. Enter this IP address directly in your browser, then you'll be presented with a login screen. If you haven't changed the default password previously, you can login using 0000 as the password.
Next, head to the Function Keys page under Setup in the left hand menu, then edit the Directory key near the bottom of the page, changing the Type colum to Action URL. Click Apply to save this change, then you'll find the Number column changes to an input field, where you can paste the phonebook URL, clicking Apply again to finish.
You'll now find that when you press the directory key on the phone, it will immediately bring up a list of your Dial 9 address book contacts.
