Setting up the Zoiper iOS app with Dial 9
Using Zoiper on your iOS device allows you to make and receive calls from your Dial 9 account, using your mobile phone. Zoiper can be installed from your mobile app store and should be referred to as Zoiper Lite voip soft phone.
After Zoiper has been installed and opened, you will be asked to accept various permissions. Please ensure that the following are accepted:
- Zoiper would like to send you notifications
- Zoiper would like to access the microphone
Find devices on local networks, camera and contact permissions are not necessary.
Once the permissions are enabled, you'll be presented with the Zoiper dial pad. From here, head to Settings -> Accounts, and press the + button.
Select Yes for Do you already have an account (username and password), then press Manual configuration.
Choose SIP account, then enter the following for your extension - which can be found in the Dial 9 Portal:
- Account name: Your company name
- Domain: sip.dial9.co.uk
- Username: Your extension username
- Password: Your extension password
- Auth Username: Your extension username
Everything else can be left as-is, then you can press Register.
You should now be online and can make and receive calls.
Please note that due to iOS restrictions, Zoiper Lite can only receive calls in the foreground, or before 10 minutes have passed if the app is in the background. If you need full functionality to receive calls outside of this, you subscribe to the Push notifications service in the app's Premium features. Outbound calls are not effected by this restriction.
